Yvonne Mills, 82, of Whitesboro, Texas was called home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at her home in Whitesboro.
Yvonne was born on November 12, 1939 in Whitesboro, Texas to Eliga Robert and Maye (Holt) Mills. She worked for Foxworth-Galbraith, retiring there after many years of service. She was a member and Elder of First United Methodist Church in Whitesboro. She loved the Lord and shared him with many people in many places throughout her life. Yvonne was a world traveler; it was a passion for seeking out new places, new people and to learn about new cultures and share her love of Jesus with others. She was blessed to be able to travel and live all over the world. Yvonne loved photography and she documented most of her travels, she was big on capturing every moment, everything, and everyone. She had hundreds of photo albums and loved to pour over them with those that come to visit. She loved her grands and great-grands, and often bragged about how many she had. She never missed a game or event, and even had a special grandma pass to get into most games for free. She was sarcastic, hilarious, outspoken and most of all, she loved. She loved her family, and she loved her church, and she loved her community.
She is survived by her daughter, Shawn Allen and husband, Kent; daughter Denise Moore and husband, Daniel; daughter, Holly Boone and husband, Billy; son, Edwin Garretson; grandchildren, Jennifer Stephens, Jared Grimes, Heather Whitney, David Whitney, Brandy Tune, Britney Huff, Dalton Tune, Jaquelyn Moore, Jordan Moore, Dalen Moore, and Erin Reign, great-grandchildren, Lillian Whitney, Sierra Rose Whitney, Deven Roberts, Thomas Whitney, Caita Whitney, Emma and Elijah Huff, Jaden Hammer, Peyton Fuller, Evan Bell, Rylee Stephens, Kaeloni Tune and Gillian Tune.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eliga and Maye Mills, daughter, Capri Grimes, sister, Leta Gorham and granddaughter, Charlotte Garretson.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro. The family will hold a Celebration of Life service at a later date.
Yvonne was a wonderful woman whom has had a prominent place in my heart since I was14 years old. My deepest sympathy and prayers are with Spooky, Ed, Holly and Denise as well as the rest of the family. Much love and will miss Yvonne.
Prayers to all of those she touched over the years. I only had a brief opportunity to get to know her, but I instantly knew she was an amazing women who was greatly loved. She will continue on in the hearts of so many people and I hope her stories are kept alive so my grandbabies will know how special she was to their Daddy.
Yvonne was a wonderful lady. She will be greatly missed.
