Mrs. K was a wonderful teacher, and a beautiful person l, anyone that ever met her, loved her. I was told that when she started teaching in Whitesboro, she was only 2 or 3 years older than the senior class. She was a very pretty young woman, and lots of the boys had a crush on her. I became very well acquainted with her and got to visit with her many times at the library. She will be very missed and we send our deepest sympathy to her whole family. The Butts Family.
Curtis Anne was a treasure. She was a dear friend and will be missed
We will all miss this truly great educator.
Mrs. K sure will be missed by so many! I loved when she would have an appointment at the dentist office and I would take her home! We had some good visits! Prayers for her family whom she loved so much!

Mrs. K was a one of a kind teacher and mentor. I absolutely Loved high school typing class because she pushed us to believe in ourselves and to always do our best!
Big Prayers for her Family and Friends..
Rest Easy Mrs. K ?
Always a kind lady that I enjoyed knowing. Praying for her family during this sad time.
I am so shocked as we were just asked to pray for her again. We have been praying daily. I am so sorry for your loss and pray you will be blessed with strength, healing and comfort.
Mrs. K has been on my mind all summer. I love her. She treated me better than my own mom. And she was a mom to more of us. Treated everyone kindly with a smile. Never ever met a stranger.
To this day I cannot pass a box of Kleenex without thinking about her and the thousands of tissue flowers we made for Jr/Sr Prom.
Only time I ever disobeyed her was at graduation 1981. She made sure all our caps were straight on…flat on top. I just spent a good hour fixing my hair not to be flat on top!
When Mrs. K walked away on to the next graduate, Shelley Moore leaned over to me and said, “You know you don’t have to obey the rules anymore. ” Within 2 seconds and the help of lots of friends with bobby pins, my hair was poofed and graduation cap angled off the back of my head.
We are heading out the door to the stage area. Walking out 2 x 2. Sponsors on each side as we pass. You know it! Mrs. K is on my side!!
She smiled at me. She pulled me close to her. Then she pinched me as she said, “Now! You pick now to disobey me?” She swatted my behind with love and sent me out into the world.
Seems fitting these 2 awesome strong women will cross over together.
She was such a great teacher and friend. We were always welcome at her house.
I am so saddened to hear about Curtis Ann. I have so many fond memories of her between the riding club and high school. She was a true friend to so many. Prayers for Karen Anne and Clay and their families. Rest in Peace Mrs. K.

Mrs.K (as we students lovingly called her) was always that teacher who supported you with everything she had. Our Senior year pep rallies were difficult for me & i cried after each one knowing it was closer to ending; Mrs K would hug me afterward & tell me how she had it together til she saw me blubbering & then she’d start & so on. I loved her spirit & support through th years. She will be missed by many. Karen Anne & Clay, thank you for sharing her with all of us, you were blessed beyond measure. God Bless You & your families?
We who have enjoyed Curtis Anne through West Grayson Retired School Personnel Association will certainly miss her adding her sweet, special touch to our meetings as leader of the Fun Team. Her delightful stories, serving as hostess to weeks of pumpkin painting each October, leading us in singing, “God Bless America” after our pledges, being an unforgettable room mate at state conventions, and sharing her unique take on our projects are all included in our precious memories of this fantastic lady. We’ll always remember Curtis Anne Kinsfather as our teacher, as our mentor, and especially as our dear friend.
One of my favorite memories is having Curtis Ann and her friends staying with Gerard and I for the Balloon Fiesta. She was so shocked at the idea of getting up at 6 am to get to the balloon grounds. But the joy and excitement she got from see all the balloons being inflated and floating away. She was up and at it for the next 2 days, so they wouldn’t miss anything, including getting the chance to experience a flight. We had so much fun that weekend. Our prayers are for you and your family durning this time of mourning. She will be missed but blessed with our knowledge she is with God.
I enjoyed Curtis Anne so much while I worked with her through Retired Teachers. She was always a jewel and so much fun to be around. Praying for comfort and peace for her family she talked about and loved so much.
Curtis Anne was a beloved friend to members of her high school class, GHS ‘51. She often served as the central source which kept us connected.
She was an accomplished artist and honored my wife and me with one of her paintings. The subject was my wife’s country homestead and I was able to surprise her with it for our 45th anniversary. She will be missed.
She will be greatly missed.
Curtis Anne was a special gift to those of us fortunate enough to be a friend. Her loss leaves a huge hole in our present and certainly in our future. West Grayson Retired School Personnel has benefited from her planning, her creative ideas and her sense of fun. She will be long missed by many
As classmates way back in 1951, Wanda Scott and Chester Skidmore
are saddened to learn that our dearest cheerleader has completed her last “rah, rah, rah!” Curtis Anne will always be part of our cherished memories of many high school reunions. We depended on Curtis Anne for leadership and support. May God bless family, friends, and classmates.
I am so sorry to hear this. Curtis Anne was such a great help and mentor to me when I first started teaching in Whitesboro. I sure did enjoy being on a team with her when Jr/Sr prom came around or graduation activities. She always had great ideas and was so organized. I also really enjoyed living down the street from her as she organized our street at Christmas first with matching big red bows on our mailboxes and later made wooden candy canes to line our street. So creative and talented. We are out of town and will miss the funeral. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. She will be so missed! ♥️
So very sorry to hear this sad news, but so thankful for all the fond memories with Mrs. K. I will remember most her beautiful smile and fun laughter. She was a kind, loving, & precious lady. Praying for you all. Betty Chilcutt, Patricia Chilcutt Mesker, & Pam Chilcutt Burden
Oh how my dad loved his cousin Curtis Anne! She was such a joyful, loving, caring person to him and he’s so enjoyed the handful of times they got to see one another as adults. He passed away earlier this year and now she is joining him in eternity along with her other loved ones. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends who will be missing her so very much.
Clay and Karen Anne I am so sorry for your loss. Ms. K was the best teacher and didn’t hesitate to discipline any one of us if we got out of line even at her house. She was such a spirited person and I loved her speeches at the pep rallies. As we got older I would often see her as I walked on the track.. She will be missed. R.I.P. Ms.K
Loved Curtis Anne. She was such a joy to so many. She will be greatly missed. Prayers to all of the family.
Love ❤️ and prayers for all of you-
So sorry we can’t b there to support – but we are in thoughts ??
Along with her many students at WHS, I loved Mrs K. She put her heart into teaching whether in the classroom or in the bleachers with her pep squad. She was the most devoted fan for the Bearcats. You learned how fierce she loved her husband, her children and her students. She did let us know when we weren’t meeting expectations, but not many minutes passed before she was giving us that huge smile that will always be her trademark for me. My prayers for her family, Zetta Barr Smith
Mrs. K was a truly wonderful person. I loved ? her typing class and her sweet smile. May she Rest In Peace.
