Anna May Wharton, 95, of Gainesville, Texas was called to her heavenly home on Wednesday, December 4. 2019.
Anna was born January 27, 1924 in Gainesville, Texas to John and Monte (Roberts) Peyrot. A lifelong Baptist and resident of Cooke County, Anna married Murry Wharton on June 1, 1947 they were married for 66 years prior to his passing in 2013. Together they built a life and raised two daughters. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed homemaking and was an avid quilter doing everything by hand. Anna was a caregiver by heart and spent many hours ministering to others in need.
She is survived by her daughter, Dicy Bryant and husband, Jerry of Gainesville; daughter, Teresa Moore and husband, Kenny of Midlothian; brothers, B.T, Peyrot of Hood, James Peyrot of Gainesville, H.C. Peyrot of Gainesville; sisters, Mary West and husband, Bill of Gainesville, Lillie Price of Abilene, Elizabeth Perry of College Station; four grandchildren, Douglas Bryant, Connie Cauver, Lindsley Howell, Bo Moore, five great-grandchildren, Kendal Bryant, McKinsey Howell, Brock Moore, Brewer Moore and Blakely Moore, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other loving friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Monte Peyrot, husband, Murry Wharton and six siblings.
Graveside services honoring Anna will be held at New Hope Cemetery in Mountain Springs at 3:00 PM on Saturday, December 7, 2019. A time of visitation will be held at Meador Funeral Home of Gainesville, beginning at 1:30 PM on Saturday, December 7, 2019
In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made in her honor to Hospice Plus of Sherman at 100 West Lamberth Road Ste. C, Sherman, TX 75092.
