Melinda Kay Reed, 56, of Valley View, TX passed away on November 9, 2019 in Dallas, TX. Funeral service will be Wednesday, November 13, at 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Valley View with Bro. Glenn Kersey officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Meador Funeral Home in Gainesville.
Melinda was born on March 16, 1963 to Wallace and Doris Stephenson in Gainesville, TX. She attended Valley View High School and then went on to obtain her nursing degree from Cooke County College. She later completed her Bachelor of Nursing from the University of Texas El Paso. Melinda was a registered nurse dedicated to her field for over 30 years.
She married Steve Reed on July 2, 1982 in Sanger, TX. Melinda loved her family very much. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Melinda loved making all kinds of crafts as well as decorating.
Melinda is survived by her Husband, Steve Reed, of Valley View; daughters Amanda and her husband Jeff Grissom of Austin, TX, Sara and husband Kevin Peck of Valley View, TX. Her mother Doris Stephenson of Valley View, TX; grandchildren Kaylen and Riley Lambert of Valley View; Roslyn Holloway and Otis Grissom of Austin, TX and Olivia Peck of Corinth, TX; sisters Dana Aranda and Brenda Klement and brother in-law Cory of Valley View, TX, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father Wallace Stephenson.
Pallbearers will be Cade Klement, Matthew Hagemann, Phillip Kassen, Kevin Peck, Damon Reed and Daniel Jones.

Growing up Melinda was always sweet and kind. She always had a beautiful on her face. She will be truly missed by all those she has touched through her short life. My deepest condolences to her family.
