Ray Pearson, 90, of Gainesville passed away on June 3rd at her son’s residence.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, June 7th at the Meador Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dennis King officiating. Burial will follow at Nelson Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Ray Pearson was born on September 13, 1928 in Burns City, Texas to Mr. Thomas and Lucy King.  Ray married George Pearson on January 3, 1948 in Gainesville,Texas.  Ray was a homemaker and she was a Baptist and a member of the Central Baptist Church. Ray loved to cook, sew and had various collections that she enjoyed working on. Ray loved the outdoors, she loved to work out in her garden and she also loved to go hunting and fishing.

She is survived by her son Tommy and wife Brenda Shugart of Gainesville, 3 grandchildren T.J. and wife C Shugart, Eric and wife Lori Shugart, Dshawn and husband Richard Huneycutt all of Gainesville.  10 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren. Her twin sister Fay Freeman of Krum, TX

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 7 brothers and sisters.
