February 7, 1932 – June 20, 2017 WHITESBORO- Graveside Services for Buford Wayne Pike, 85 will be held Friday, June 23, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Rick Carney officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 22, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Meador Funeral Home, Whitesboro, Texas. Buford passed away peacefully at his home in Whitesboro, Tuesday, June 20, 2017.He was born to Robert Lee and Willie (Sikes) Pike on February 7, 1932 in Sandusky, Texas. He married Patsy Richards on January 23, 1954 in Collinsville, Texas. Pat preceded Buford in death on January 12, 2000. Buford was a businessman having worked in the oilfield business for many years, as well as other business ventures and enjoyed the comraderie of many friends throughout his life. He was a sixty year Mason at the Whitesboro Lodge 263 AF&/AM. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. His love for his hunting camp in the Texas Panhandle and being at their home in Colorado with his family and friends made him especially happy. Buford loved to play dominoes at the domino hall in Whitesboro. Buford was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Whitesboro, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Gene Foster, Mike Allred, John Morgan, Marc Case, Lewis Crockett and Kim Cunningham.
He is survived by his son, Mark Pike and wife, Carol of Whitesboro; sister, Lela Alcorn and husband, John of Hattiesburg, Mississippi; 5 grandchildren, Matt Pike of Whitesboro, Meghan Formby and husband, Russell of Whitesboro, Jessie Sidlauskas and wife, Kadi of Rockwall, Andrew Wayne Sidlauskas of Whitesboro and Jacob Sidlauskas of Whitesboro and 3 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Willie Pike; wife, Patsy Pike; still born son, Theran Pike and daughter, Chris Sidlauskas; 2 brothers, Joe and O. T. Pike and 2 sisters, Alene Worthington and Alba-Lee Brooks.
