January 12, 1942 – July 13, 2017 Hazel Oleta Dobson, age 75, slipped peacefully into the arms of Jesus Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Wilson N. Jones Regional Medical Center in Sherman, Texas. Graveside services will be held Monday, July 17, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery with Mike Bentley officiating. There is no scheduled visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home, Whitesboro, Texas.Hazel was born January 12, 1942 in Basin Springs Community to Carl B. and Thelma (Wylie) Greene. She leaves behind her beloved family; son, Damon (Tammy) Schoonover of Colorado Springs, Colorado; step-children, Dwight, Steve and Gloria Dobson; brother, Herman (Cheri) Greene of Gordonville and sisters, Nola (Tommy) Hale and Shirley (Bobby) Neely both of Whitesboro. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and a special niece, Mary Ann Maynard.
Hazel was a member Missionary Baptist Church of Whitesboro. She attended for many years services at the Union Street Church of Christ, Whitesboro. Hazel was an excellent seamstress and cook. She enjoyed cooking for the holidays when her large extended family would gather to celebrate. She was a sweet, kind lady and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Thelma Greene; husband, Earl Dobson; sister, Carlene Sieger; brothers, Robert, Floyd and Roger Greene.
