Our beloved Colt was born September 21, 1987 in Michigan to parents, Troy A Matson and Theresa A Hicks. Colt was just 22 when he passed July 11, 2010.
Colts passion for sports was inspiring. Colt moved to Whitesboro Texas in junior high. Colt found his home as a Whitesboro Bearcat n high school. Colt could be found at every Whitesboro high school game. Colt was always proud of his new Texas home and Whitesboro Bearcats, whether it was football, basketball or softball he was cheering, learning, coaching and always supporting Whitesboro.
Colt was a natural athlete who always tried to rise above his challenges from an early age he rode horse back, downhill skied developed a good baseball swing and learned everything he possibly could about football.Colt graduated class of 2006, Whitesboro High School in Texas, and will forever be a bearcat. Colt attended Grayson community college for four years where he worked in the weight room and had a full-time college schedule. Colts goal of coaching high school sports was always his inspiration. He loved Grayson county college sports as well following women’s softball and men’s baseball. Colt dreamed of going to the University of North Texas. Colts loved his Michigan sports teams and his Texas teams. Colt was always obsessed about sports statistics and all teams. One of the best team players with an upbeat positive attitude. “Attitude is everything” was our motto in his younger days.
Our dear Colt has earned his “Red” Wings. Colts strong Spirit remains alive and celebrated in his beloved University of Michigan football team, Detroit Redwings hockey team, Whitesboro Bearcats Sports and the Grayson County Vikings Sports and the “Apogee”dream at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas.
