December 9, 1953 –  February 5, 2012  GORDONVILLE â?? Ken Kennedy was born on December 9, 1953 in DeKalb, TX in the family home. He passed away on February 5, 2012 in his home in Gordonville, TX. Ken was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. His ranch in Gordonville was also a source of joy. He spent hours caring for the land, his horses, Longhorn cattle and just sitting on the â??verandaâ? watching the wildlife! In the last few years of his life Ken found love with his new bride, Vicky. They were married on December 17, 2011 on the ranch. Ken was also an incredible grandfather to his 9 grandchildren â?? Khris, Dalton, Kensey, Breâ??Anna, Karis, Bobby, Hope, Koleman, and Molly. Ken is survived by his wife Vicky and two children, Khris Kennedy of Prosper, TX and Lori Sheppard of Mansfield, TX; 4 stepchildren, Kelli Holt, Colleen Holt, Andrea Holt all of San Francisco, CA; and 9 brothers and sisters: Linda Crane, Jamie Kennedy, Roger Kennedy, Kay Shaffer, Barbara Shafer, Sharon Webb, Jackie Orrick, Terry Kennedy, and Karen Kennedy. He was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Juanita Kennedy and two brothers, Eugene Kennedy and Wayne Kennedy. His family will host a memorial service in his honor at 1544 Pine Grove Rd., Gordonville, TX 76245 on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012 at 2 p.m. with his son, Rev. Khris Kennedy officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro.
