Leta was born March 1st, 1943, in Gainesville, TX to Clarence and Bertie Beeler. She grew up in Woodbine, TX and graduated from Gainesville High School.
She met the love of her life and future husband Mike Theobald while working at Streets Pharmacy in Gainesville. While it took him a while to catch her, catch her he did. They married on October 16th, 1961. They welcomed 3 children Dwayne, Gayla and Tonya.
Leta was a devoted wife and mother, a true Homemaker for her family. She continued to take care of her home/family even after taking jobs outside the home. Her favorite job was working for Handy Dan, where she became employed in Denton, TX, transferring to DeSoto and staying until its closing. She was then recruited by Walmart where she worked for over 25 years. ‘Her” customers made a point to go to her register as they always enjoyed talking with and getting to know her. She always had stories to tell and loved listening to theirs.
Once Leta’s grandchildren came along, she loved spending time with them, caring for them, until her memory began to decline.
Leta had a multitude of interests. She was extremely artistic and had a grand imagination. She loved to sew, many times making up her own patterns for all kinds of projects. She loved decorating her home. She was very whimsical, funny and silly. She loved her flower beds and crafting of all kinds. She was also a perfectionist. It wasn’t uncommon for her to ger to the end of a Long Project and decide something wasn’t right, take it apart, and start all over. She was a wonderful baker but was best remembered by her family for her beautifully decorated and delicious tea cake cookies. They were a staple at Christmas and making/decorating them was an event. She always took special care to make each one look perfect, down to the most minute detail. And you could taste the love and care that she put into every one of them.
As her memory continued to decline, Mike was devoted to caring for her until his passing in August 2022. It was during his hospital stay that she had a seizure leading her being placed in Homestead of Denison memory care where the staff considered her one of their favorites.
Our mama was beautiful, amazingly talented, kind and feisty woman. She taught us to love Jesus. While we will miss her terribly, the mother we knew, we know that she has no more pain, confusion or doubt. We rejoice knowing that she has been made whole and perfect thru her salvation in Jesus Christ.
Let was preceded in death by her husband Mike Theobald, parents Clarence and Bertie Beeler; brother Clarence Beeler Jr.; grandson Michael Dwayne Theobald Jr.; sisters Nettie Hurta and Doris Stephenson. She leaves behind her 3 children, son Michael Dwayne Theobald Sr. and wife Angela; daughter Gayla Fewell and husband Tim; daughter Tonya Smith and husband Brian.
