January 22, 1944 – August 9, 2014 WHITESBORO – Funeral services for Janis Caroline Parsons, 70, will be held Wednesday, August 13, 2014, at 10 a.m., in the Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro, Texas with Rev. Charles Carter officiating. Interment will follow the service at Collinsville Cemetery in Collinsville, Texas. Visitation services will be held Tuesday, August 12, 2014, at the funeral home from 7-8 p.m.She passed away on August 9, 2014 at her residence in Whitesboro, Texas, with all of her family at her side.
Janis was born on January 22, 1944 in Collinsville, Texas to James E. Dillon and Katie Pearl (Russell) Dillon. She married James Parsons on October 15, 1960 in Whitesboro, Texas. Janis was of the Baptist faith. She used to sing and play guitar in the family band. She loved her puppy dogs, enjoyed working in her gardens, and decorating her home.
She is survived by her husband, James Parsons, of Whitesboro; daughter, Rhonda Ludlam and husband, Garry, of Whitesboro; son, Mackey Parsons and wife, Sherri, of Stringtown, Oklahoma; grandchildren: Brandon Parsons and wife, Karla, Brittany Parsons, Destinee Parsons, Chelsey Ross and husband, Blake, Brittany Ludlam, Jaden Parsons, and Heather McBeath and husband, Randy; great-grandchildren: Kaelyn Parsons, Tatyana Parsons, Dayton Ross, Colton Kauffman, Braighley Blayke, and Brent McBeath; her mother, Katie Pearl Dillon; and two very dear lifetime friends, Gwen Brown and Joann Smart.
