Dean Hugh Mendell, age 71, passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2023 in Denton, Texas. He was surrounded by his loving family leading up to his passing. Dean was born on January 18, 1952 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to parents B.C. and Florence (Arthurs) Mendell. Dean attended and graduated from Del City High School. Dean worked in construction and owned his own company serving the Oklahoma City area until retirement. He was an avid Harley-Davidson motorcycle rider the majority of his life and after retirement, he could be found fishing on Lake Texoma with friends.

Dean is survived by his brother, Ed Mendell of Norman, Okla; a son, Steve Mendell and his wife Mary of Gordonville, Texas; a daughter, Donna Mendell of Breaux Bridge, La; three grandsons, Tyler Kelly, Grant and Mason Mendell; one granddaughter, Brianna Sheets; and one great-granddaughter, Aubrey Batiste. Dean’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

A “Celebration of Life” event will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023 from 1 – 3 pm for family and friends at 14113 Baldwin Lane, Kingston, Okla 73439
