Kathy Bean, 68 of Gainesville, Texas passed away on March 20, 2023. She was born on July 30, 1954 in Los Angeles, California to Elias S. Fierro and Ernestine (Macias) Fierro. Kathy married Russell “Rusty” Bean in Las Vegas, Nevada on April 27, 1991. She was of the Catholic faith and a loving mother and wife. Kathy was a cook for the Cooke County, Gainesville school district for over 20 years and a food critic. She loved to tell stories, collect coffee mugs from different places and loved cats. Kathy also loved listening to music and dancing.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Rusty Bean; daughter, Audrey Bean; son, Ervin Bean; son, Richard Bean; daughter in law, Kandy Hernandez; grandson, Adan Hernandez; granddaughter, Adelynn Hernandez; mother, Ernestine Fierro; siblings, Carmen Fierro, Linda Ortiz, Ruben Fierro, Betty Peeler, Richard Fierro; friends and beloved family in Texas and California.
Preceded in death father, Elias Fierro; brother, Elias Fierro Jr; grandson, Anthony Michael Bean-Hernandez.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Meador Funeral Home, 1204 E. California Street, Gainesville, Texas.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home of Gainesville.

Kathy was a gentle lady. She loved life, family, and laughter. Her smile lit up every room she entered and you felt the joy she had just being with you. She loved God and relied on His comfort and now she is at peace in His loving arms. How much we will all miss her beautiful ways. Each of us is a better person because she was in our life. RIP sweet friend.
I worked with Kathy in the school cafeteria. She was always an inspiration to me. The memory of her courage, kind words, constant compassion and humor will always be treasured among those who knew her. My condolences to your family on the loss of such an amazing person.

Kathy was always the kindest person. We go way back and had so many good times from pool parties, bowling league, horse traces, cookouts and so much more! Her strength, courage and faith in the Lord was inspiring. Kathy I could only hope to be half the woman you were! Oh and let’s not leave out her cooking!! She was the best in all she did!
