Darlene Rowley Beck was born August 17, 1945, to Jess and Leona Andrews Rowley in Canadian, Texas.  She passed from this life on June 10, 2022, into the presence of God and her loving family who had gone before her.

The Rowley Family moved to Elk City, Oklahoma, in the summer of 1950, when Darlene was about to start school.  She attended school in the Elk City area, all of her 12 years.  She graduated high school in May 1963.

In 1970, Darlene was working as a secretary at Weber Aircraft in Gainesville, Texas, where she met John Beck.  On July 3, 1971 John and Darlene were married at First Assembly of God Church in Gainesville.  They built a life together based on Godly principles and a mutual love and respect for one another for almost 51 years.  Darlene and John are the parents of three children; Jeff Beck, Jason Beck, and Jennifer Beck Blackmon.  Darlene was the adoring grandmother of six grandchildren; Bradley and Marlayna Beck, Elisabeth and Emily Beck, and Jackson and Brady Blackmon.

Darlene is survived by her husband John Beck, her children Jeff Beck of McKinney, TX, Jason and wife Krissie Beck of Callisburg, TX, and Jennifer and husband Chad Blackmon of Lindsay, TX; two sisters, Joy King of Folsom, California, Linda Andrews of Elk City, OK, and one brother Dale Rowley and wife Jolene of Houston, TX.  Preceding her in death were her parents, Jess and Leona Rowley, two brothers Bill and Wayne Rowley.

Darlene worked through her life as a secretary, loan officer, and retired in 1998 as a paralegal from Adams & Bennett Law Offices in Gainesville.  She was also the bookkeeper for her husband John’s business Beck Insulation Service since 1976.

Darlene was a strong woman of great character and integrity.  She was filled with great joy, grace, courage, and laughter even while battling cancer of various types for seven years.  Her reward shall be great!

Proverbs 31:10-30

An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels. The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain.  She does him good all the days of her life.  And she laughs at the time to come.  She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.  She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.  Her children rise up and call her blessed, her husband also, and he praises her.  Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.  Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.

Graveside service will be held on June 14, 2022 at 10:00 am at Fairview Cemetery.
