June 15, 1920 –  April 1, 2009  WHITESBORO â?? Graveside Services for Willie â??Billâ? Eggleston, 88, will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 3, 2009 at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro with Chaplin, Carol Hobson officiating. Services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at the funeral home. Bill passed away Wednesday, April 01, 2009 at his home in Whitesboro.
He was born on June 15, 1920 in Doyle, Oklahoma to Charles and Lettie (Watts) Eggleston. He married Izella Carney on Oct. 4, 1955 in Sherman. Bill worked for the City of Sherman Sanitation Dept. for 22 years. His favorite activity was fishing. Bill was a workaholic, always working in his yard and garden. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, watching rodeos and Hee Haw, and loved going to shindigs and hootenannies.

Survivors include his wife, Izella Eggleston of Whitesboro, a son, William Charles Eggleston and wife Mary of Whitesboro, a daughter, Connie Lynn Johnston and husband Richard of Whitesboro, a step-son, Gerald Hampton of Whitesboro, a step-daughter, Brenda Hampton of Houston, 12 grandchildren, including Michelle Rankin and husband Ronnie of Whitesboro, Ricky Riggs and wife, Jamie of Whitesboro and Angela Leazott and husband, Ronald of Houston, whom they raised, 28 great-grandchildren, 6 sisters, Jerry Baze, Ola Jennings, Dean Marshall, Ruby Marks, Opal Thompson and Dolly McEldowney.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lettie Eggleston, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
