January 2, 1934 –  September 4, 2010  COLLINSVILLE – William Travis Cardwell, 76, passed away at his home Saturday, Sept, 4, 2010. A graveside service will be held Saturday, September 11, 2010 at the Collinsville Cemetery at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Johnny Johnston officiating. A visitation will be held Friday, Sept. 10 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Meador Funeral Home. Service arrangements are under the direction Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro, TX. Travis was born to William Aaron and Sarah Elizabeth (Willingham) Cardwell on January 2, 1934. He married Alice Irene Spencer on January 30, 1954 in Whitesboro, TX. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in Korea.
He is survived by his three daughters, Sarah Jean Cardwell of Bridgeport, TX; Annette Cardwell of Gordonville, TX; Rita Rena Moody of Jacksboro, TX; his three sisters, Nelladean Greene, Francis Gravette, and Goldie Smith; two brothers, Melvin Cardwell and Jerry Cardwell; six grandchildren, Shaun Cardwell, Jason Brown, Tammy McMahan, Tiffany Mesta, Ashley Megar, and Rowdy Moody; and eight great-grandchildren Brittany, Mackenzie, and Haley Brown; Nathan Holt Cardwell, Mason and Madison Mesta, and Justin and Kaylin Magar.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Irene Cardwell; his parents, William and Sarah Cardwell, and six brothers and sisters.
