January 18, 1957 –  December 21, 2011  WHITESBORO – Funeral services for Wendell Gene Whisman, Sr. ,54, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Rev. Terry Barnett officiating. Visitation will be on December 27, 2011 from 6 until 8 P.M. at the funeral home. Mr. Whisman passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at his home in Whitesboro.
Wendell was born on January 18, 1957 in Phoenix, Arizona to Gene Whisman and Irene Griffin. He served in the United States Army and he enjoyed the Dallas Cowboys and fishing.
Survivors include sons, David Reaves of Gainesville, Wendell Whisman, Jr., and wife, Heather of Sadler; daughters, Chilitia Head and husband, Kevin and Amanda Wilson and husband, Brett of South Dakota; a brother, Alvin Whisman and wife, Julie of South Dakota and 12 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gene Whisman and Irene Griffin ; step father, Gene Griffin; brothers, Charles and Daryl Whisman.
