Wanda Mae Jones, 85, of Gainesville peacefully passed away on July 14th 2025, at home surrounded by her family. There will be a graveside service held at New Hope Cemetery in Mt. Springs with her son Tony Jones officiating on Friday July 18th at 10:00 AM. Visitation will be held on Thursday July 17th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Meador Funeral Home.

Wanda was born in Newton, Illinois on September 29, 1939, to Harold Lee Shuppert and Inez Pearl Green. She married the love of her life, Clemmy Jim Jones, on August 20, 1955, in Gainesville. She loved God above all else and closely followed the teachings of Jimmy Swaggart for over 50 years. Her love for her family was immeasurable. Sunday dinners at her house will forever be missed by her children and grandchildren. She was an avid reader and rarely let her Kindle out of her sight. She owned and operated Wanda’s Ceramics for many years and was known within the north Texas community for her artistic ability with ceramics and painting. Later in life she discovered her love for quilting. She was known for her beautifully hand sewn quilts and cross stitch creations. Afternoons sitting on the deck, watching her cats play, was one of her favorite things to do later in life.

She was preceded in death by her husband Clemmy in 2020, her parents Harold and Inez Shuppert and her brother Harold Shuppert Jr. (Bud).

She is survived by her son Rusty Jones and his wife Rhonda Jones; daughter Vanessa and her husband Lee Smith; son Tony and his wife Anise Jones; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-children; 3 nieces, 2 great-nieces and 4 great-nephews.
