February 11, 1943 –  October 18, 2005  Graveside services for Walter Dean McAbee, age 62, will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, October 20, 2005 at Gordonville Cemetery with Grover and Marie Duncan officiating. Services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 19, 2005 from 6 â?? 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
Mr. McAbee passed away on October 18, 2005 at his home in Gordonville.

He was born February 11, 1943 to Hugh Walter and Mamie (Abernathy) McAbee in Startex, South Carolina. He married JoAnn Stevens on September 20, 1986 in Denton, Texas. Walter loved his family, friends and having a good time. He also enjoyed Harley Davidsons and Nascar.

Survivors include his wife, JoAnn McAbee of Gordonville; 2 sons, Warren Hugh McAbee and wife Jennifer of Inman, South Carolina and Joey Lloyd McAbee of Greer, South Carolina; a daughter, Cheri Kaye Kershaw and husband Randal of Gordonville; 3 sisters, Mary Reece of Pennsylvania, Amy Duncan and Mildred Owens of South Carolina and a brother, Freddy McAbee of South Carolina; 5 grandchildren, Amy Cheri James, Tiffani Lane Coleman, Jerryd â??Bubbaâ? Coleman, Wyatt Harrison McAbee and Walker Hayden McAbee

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and a step-son.
