October 9, 1943 –  August 17, 2015  Vernon Gale Garrett, 71, died at his home Monday, August 17, 2015 in Whitesboro, Texas. Visitation Services will be held Friday, August 21, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Meador Funeral Home Chapel. He was a building contractor by trade and is survived by two daughters, Debra Martin of Gainesville, and Tammie Garrett also of Gainesville, and son, Dale Garrett and wife, Pam of Gainesville; two sisters, Lana Caldwell of Gainesville and Lola Arnold of San Diego, California; brother, Jimmy Garrett of Whitesboro; 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Carroll.
