July 15, 1924 –  December 6, 2010  WHITESBORO – Funeral services for Velma Ruth Jones, 86, will be held Thursday, December 9, at 2:00 p.m. in the Meador Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rick Carney officiating. Interment will follow at the Collinsville Cemetery. Family visitation will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 8. All service arrangements are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home.Velma Jones passed away in Whitesboro, Texas on December 6, 2010.
She was born to Tony Joseph and Ethel R. Maude (Brewer) Chisum on July 15, 1924 in Addison Bend, OK. She loved gardening, sewing, and cooking. Most of all, she loved her family.
She is survived by her sons: Fred Bearden of Whitesboro, TX; Ray Jackson and wife, Christi, of Oklahoma City, OK; and Raymond Jackson, and wife, Carole, of Elk City, OK; her daughters, Brenda Taylor and husband, Charles, of Whitesboro, TX; and Debra Carver and husband, Bryan, of Springtown, TX; her sisters, Wanda Chisum, Peggy Chisum, Betty Chisum, Lucille Chisum, and Leona Chisum; and her brothers, Kenneth Chisum and Johnny Chisum; 20 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tony and Ethel Chisum; her son, R. A. Jackson; 2 grandchildren, Sheila and Tony Bearden; two brothers; and a sister.
