June 8, 1924 –  February 25, 2014  WHITESBORO – Funeral services for Tillman George Cason, 89, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014 at First United Methodist Church in Whitesboro, Texas with Pastor Ken Hildebrand officiating. Interment will follow at 3:30 P.M. at Grandfield Cemetery in Grandfield, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro, Texas. Visitation services will be held from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday, February 28, 2014 at the funeral home. He passed away on February 25, 2014 in Sherman, Texas, surrounded by his family.
Tillman was born on June 8, 1924 in Tillman County, Oklahoma to Carlos Eugene and Della (Darden) Cason. He married Carleene Josefy on January 16, 1943 in Temple, Oklahoma. Tillman and Carleene shared 71 years together in which they were the parents of two daughters, six grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. During World War II, he was a member of the US Army Artillery. Tillman also served with the US Army in the Philippines. He was the founder and president of U.S. Plating in Dallas, Texas. Tillman was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Whitesboro, Texas. He was a member of the Senior Dance Club. Tillman’s hobbies included old cars, fishing, and horses.
He is survived by his wife, Carleene Cason of Whitesboro, Texas; two daughters: Diana Gale and husband, Jim, of Lewisville, Texas, and Rita Moore and husband, Dwain, of Carrollton, Texas; six grandchildren: Eric Gale, Dale Moore, Vince Gale, Tracy Hallock, Shannon Curtis, and Christi Fox; and twelve great-grandchildren.
Tillman was preceded in death by his parents, Carlos and Della Cason, and eight siblings.
Pallbearers will be Eric Gale, Dale Moore, Vince Gale, Kurt Hallock, Jamie Fox, and Dennis Curtis.
