September 3, 1929 –  May 13, 2014  Funeral Services for Marietta resident Thurman Dale Reid will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 16th at Meador-Clement-Keel Chapel with Rev. Bill Black, Pastor of Grand Avenue Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Sconce, Danny Steadham, Shannon Sconce, Lupe Chavarria, Eric Chavarria and Jerry Sconce. Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. Mr. Reid died at Mercy Health Center Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at the age of eighty-four.
Thurman Reid was born in Saint Jo, Texas September 3, 1929, the son of Barney and Hattie Mae (Blodgett) Reid. He married Margie Wilkins July 25, 1952 in Weatherford, Texas. Mr. Reid was a Crew Foreman for Cooke County Electric retiring.

Survivors include his wife, Margie Reid of Marietta; daughters and sons-in-law, Pat and John Sconce of Marietta and Alisa and Danny Steadham of Denton; son and daughter-in-law, Barney and Lanetta Reid of Oak Point; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Christy Sconce; brother Lavonne Reid and his parents. http://videos.lifetributes.com/491716
