August 17, 1928 –  July 31, 2012  COLLINSVILLE â?? Funeral services for Thomas R. (Tom) Farr, Sr., 83, will be held Saturday, August 4, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at the Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro, Texas with Ricky Patterson and Scott Sides officiating. Family visitation will be Friday evening, August 3, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Collinsville Cemetery.He passed away in Austin, Texas on July 31, 2012.
Tom was born on August 17, 1928 to Barnie B. and Bertha Emma (Moncrief) Farr in Ethel, Texas. He married Laura Jo Walker on September 11, 1948 in Paris, Texas. He was a member of the Collinsville Church of Christ. He was a member of the A.F. & A.M. Masonic Lodge #263. He loved to fly and enjoyed traveling to the beach or to the mountains. He was a people person and enjoyed talking with people. He loved his family.
He is survived by his wife, Laura Farr, of Collinsville, TX; sons: Thomas R. (Dick) Farr, Jr. and wife, Marvonne, of Stafford, TX; James F. (Jim) Farr and wife, Jutuan of The Woodlands, TX; and Peter R. (Rob) Farr of Elk City, OK; daughter, Rebecca Farr of Austin, TX; grandchildren: Todd Farr, April Yelvington, Brian Farr, Lauren Barker, Amber Farr, and Garrett Farr; great-grandchildren: Allison, Luke, Julia and Abby Yelvington; Keira and Kari Cantwell; Benjamin and Sophia Barker; and a sister, Patricia Bagley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Barnie and Bertha Farr; three brothers: Barnie B. Farr, Jr.; James E. Farr; and Billy Farr.
Pallbearers will be Jeral Petty, Larry Bice, Keith Welch, Noel Lewter, Mark Patterson and Gary Patterson.
