Terry Ray Stearns, 65, of Whitesboro, Texas was called to his eternal home on Monday, December 23, 2019.

Terry was born on July 22, 1954 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri to Virgil and Minnie (Sievers) Stearns.    He married Joyce Abney on November 16, 1974 in Cape Girardeau.  Terry worked at the Denton State School and retired after 20 years of service.  He liked playing card games, loved his family tremendously and enjoyed talking to people.  Terry was a man that had a great sense of humor and a great love of life.

He is survived by his son, Michael Stearns and wife, Erin; daughter, Melissa Breidenstein and husband, Shane; grandsons, Jacob Stearns, Aiden Stearns and Steven Breidenstein, brother, Scott Stearns and wife, Kim; sister, Saundra Young and husband, Larry; sister, Debra Seabaugh and husband, Jerry; brother, Gary Stearns; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Minnie Stearns and his wife, Joyce Stearns.

Funeral services honoring Terry will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 27, 2019 at Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro, officiated by Rev. Adam Spore.  Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro.  A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
