February 24, 1941 –  February 15, 2016  Funeral Services for Sanjuana Vannoy, 74, of Whitesboro, will be held Thursday, February 18, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Meador Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ken Hildebrand officiating. Interment will follow at Collinsville Cemetery. A Rosary will be held Wednesday, February 17th at 6:00 p.m. followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.She passed away Monday, February 15, 2016, at her home with her family by her side. She was born to Juan Reyes and Mere Jilda (Moreno) Reyes on February 24, 1941, in Guanajuato, Mexico. She married Bill Vernon Vannoy in Mexico City, Mexico, and has been in the Whitesboro community since 1975. She retired after 22 years as a custodian/cafeteria chef from Whitesboro ISD. Sanjuana was loved by all who knew her. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Whitesboro and also attended the First United Methodist Church of Whitesboro. Sanjuana and the Methodist Church served as missionaries to Sanjuana’s hometown in Mexico. The church gave money and Sanjuana and her sons traveled to Mexico and shopped and cooked serving hundreds of meals to the hungry men, women and children of her community. She also loved to garden, fish, tend to her chickens and go camping, as well as being an avid walker. She is survived by 2 sons, Ralph Vannoy and William Vannoy of Whitesboro; daughter, Emma Norma Yolanda Reyes of Mexico; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and 2 brothers, Vincente and Carlos Reyes of Mexico. Pallbearers will be Daniel Vannoy, Shelton Bray, Tomas Hernandez, Refugio Hernandez and Santiago Hernandez. She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Mere Jilda Moreno Reyes and husband, Bill Vannoy and several brothers and sisters.
