August 14, 1941 –  August 6, 2011  WHITESBORO- A Memorial Service for Samuel Glen Morgan, 69, will be held at 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Bro. Bill Crenshaw officiating. A visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., prior to service. Mr. Morgan passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2011 at Carrus Specialty Hospital in Sherman, surrounded by his family.
Samuel was born on August 14, 1941 in Mountain View, Oklahoma, to Dee Witt and Jessie (Feaser) Morgan. He served the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. Samuel married Mary Frances Dugosh on June 23, 1978 in Pleasanton, Texas. He did construction work for 45 years. He was of the Church of Christ faith and he enjoyed organic gardening and all sporting events, especially the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Mavericks. Samuel loved family reunions and gatherings with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Mary Morgan, of Whitesboro; a son, Levi Morgan of Whitesboro; step-daughter, Sandra McMillan of Collinsville; 2 step-sons, Larry Johnson of Collinsville and Michael Johnson and wife, Mollie, of Whitesboro; sister, Coleta Stinson, and husband, Darrell, of Ames, Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Charlene Morgan of Cordell, Oklahoma; 9 step-grandchildren; 4 step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dee Witt and Jessie Morgan; 6 sisters, Maybien Rhodes, Flossie Bales, Ellen Kilday, Pauline (Polly) Newsom, Ima Nix and Jessie Mae Morgan; 2 brothers, Dee Witt (Bud) Morgan and Gus (Tyke) Morgan and step-grandson, Cole McMillan.
