March 26, 1942 –  October 16, 2013  Loving father and grandfather, Samuel Edwin “Sam” Hall of Gainesville died Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at the age of seventy-one. He was born in Lamesa, Texas March 26, 1942, the son of Nema and Joe Hall, Sr. Sam was a veteran of the US Army. He worked as a pumper in the oil fields, retiring from both Chevron and Chaparral Oil. He was an avid sports fan, loved his horses and playing golf. Sam was a Baptist preacher and had served at Bearhead Baptist Church in Sivells Bend.
A Memorial Service for Samuel Hall will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, October 20th at Meador-Clement-Keel Chapel with Rev. Roslyn Eugster officiating.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Shawna and Stuart Chilcoat of Whitesboro; sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Misty Hall of Gainesville and Brian and Dana Hall of Shallowater; sisters, Maudie Wallace of Midland and Pat Walden of Dumas; brother, Joe Hall, Jr. of Moriarty, New Mexico and grandchildren, John Chilcoat, Sarah Chilcoat, Erin Chilcoat, Kaylee Chilcoat, Hunter Hall, Brookelyn Hall, Jordan Hall, Devlyn Hall, Brandon Hall and Brittany Hall. He was preceded in death by his parents.
