August 9, 1923 – June 16, 2009 WHITESBORO รข?? Funeral Services for Ruth Beatrice Hough, 85, will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 19, 2009 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Rev. Harold Watson officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro. Visitation will be at 1 p.m., prior to the service.
Ruth passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center in Sherman.
She was born in Mena, Arkansas on Aug. 9, 1923 to Walter Self and Iva (Moore) Self. Ruth was the consummate mother. She was very compassionate and thought of others before herself. Ruth never lost her sweet spirit, her smile or her faith during the many tragedies that occurred in her life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Whitesboro.
Survivors include a son, Gary Hough of Sherman, a granddaughter, Crystal Hough of Denton, a niece, Linda Hicks of Lewisville, a great niece, 2 great nephews and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Iva Self, husband, Paul Hough, a son, Steve Hough, a granddaughter, Stephanie Hough, and 3 brothers, Walter Self, Jr., Kenneth Self, and Gene Self.
