Robert Louis Coursey, 84 of Gainesville, Texas passed away on February 3, 2023. He was born on December 7, 1938 in Gainesville and is the grandson of the late Noble & Edna Glenn also of Gainesville. Robert married the love of his life, Linda Lutkenhaus on September 28, 1968 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Muenster, Texas. He chose his Catholic faith, while he was serving in the US Marine Corps.  Shortly thereafter, he was baptized and confirmed.  Robert was a member of both Saint Mary Catholic Church in Gainesville and Saint William Catholic Church in Montague, Texas.

Robert was a retired machinist, having worked 34 years for Victor Equipment Company in Denton and three years for General Dynamics in Fort Worth.  He served for six years in the US Marine Corps.  Robert was a member of the American Legion, Post 263 and the Knights of Columbus, Council 14339.

Robert was very active taking care of their sheep and other animals and enjoyed nature and the country way of life.

Robert is survived by his loving wife, Linda Coursey; sister-in-law, Rachel Hennigan; brother-in-law, James Lutkenhaus; godchildren, Brittany Renee Hess and Alexander Nicolas Nervo; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; special family members, Donna Hennigan and Lisa Hess.

Rosary will be held at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at Meador Funeral Home, 1204 E. California Street, Gainesville.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at Saint Mary Catholic Church in Gainesville, Texas. Interment to follow at St. William Catholic Cemetery, Montague, Texas.
