Robert Daniel Byas, 64, of Van Alstyne was called to his eternal home on Friday, May 7, 2021.

Dan was born on October 30, 1956 in Fort Worth, Texas to James Floyd and Hortencia (Robles) Byas.  He graduated from Brunswick High School in Brunswick, Ohio and from the New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell, NM.  After a 25-year career in Material Handling equipment, he earned his heating and air conditioning certification. Dan was the owner and operator of Absolute Heating and Air Conditioning in Van Alstyne.

He is survived by his sister, Cynthia Underwood of Collinsville, brother, James David Byas and his wife, Rhonda J. of Dallas as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, James and Hortencia Byas and wife, Kimberly Ann Byas.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his honor to Home Hospice of Grayson County at 505 W. Center St. Sherman, TX. 75090.

Funeral services honoring Dan will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro, officiated by Pastor Jedediah Denman.  Interment will follow at Collinsville Cemetery in Collinsville, TX.  A time of visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, May 10, 2021 at the funeral home.
