Gainesville resident Robert Cusac Nutter, 74, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at Renaissance Care Center. He was born July 14, 1942, in Bridgeport, Conn., to Leroy Dermott Nutter Sr. and Joan (Tilbury) Nutter. Robert married Mary Sue Freeman on May 21, 1992, in Fort Worth. He served in the U.S. Air Force as Airman First Class Chaplain Service Specialist from 1963-1967 at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. He was an elder at First Presbyterian Church in Gainesville and a teacher of computer-aided drafting and woodworking at Gainesville High School, North Central Texas College and Grayson County College. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Sunday, October 30, at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Gainesville with Rev. John Hare officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, October 29, at Meador Funeral Home in Gainesville.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Sue Nutter of Gainesville; two sons, Michael Prescott and wife Andrea of Arlington, and Brian Prescott and wife Brenda of Mansfield; one daughter, Christina Pandey of Arlington; one brother, James Tilbury “Buck” Nutter of Granbury; four stepchildren, Marsha LeNeveu of Hurst, Billy Freeman Jr. of Forestburg, Starla Terry of Gainesville and Julie Freeman of Waco; and 13 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Leroy Dermott, Jr.
