Randy Winston Roach, 64, of Collinsville, Texas was called home to Heaven on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, after a courageous battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
Randy was born on February 5, 1957 in Lufkin, Texas, to Covy and Ynell (Decker) Roach. He had a strong testimony and a deep love for the Lord. His heart for the Lord and His people is what pushed Randy into pursuing a career in law enforcement. Randy spent over 30 years in law enforcement and served as the Chief of Police for Collinsville. He had a strong love for the Collinsville community and its people. He was fair, patient, and open minded as a police officer and one of the humblest and hard-working men you would ever meet. He loved being behind the scenes taking care of all the little details that helped the people of his community. Randy married Avia Henry on October 8, 2011 in Forney, Texas and together they blended their family and started their adventures. Randy and Avia enjoyed traveling together, spending time fishing, camping, riding motorcycles and boating. Randy loved the water and often commented that he felt most comfortable when he was seven miles offshore. He indulged his passion for the water by scuba diving into the deep and fishing while far out to sea. Randy loved unconditionally. His love for his wife and his family was obvious to anyone that knew him. He was a rock and a leader both at home and in his community. The city of Collinsville will be dedicating a park in his memory to be called the Randy W. Roach Nature Park.
He is survived by his wife, Avia Roach, children, Cody Roach, Jared Roach, Victoria Hope Roach, Louie Hernandez, Nadine Hernandez, mother, Nell Roach, brother, Brad Roach and wife, Sue, sister, Deeann Black and husband, Wendell, grandchildren, Covy Weston Roach, Gunnar Roach, Wallace Miller, Delphine Miller, Telsa Miller, Richard Miller, Kyle Gillispie, and his beloved dog Lady Bug.
Randy was preceded in death by his father, Covy Roach.
Funeral services honoring Randy will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 6, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Collinsville, officiated by Bro. Jerry Huggins. A private family interment will follow at Collinsville Cemetery. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, December 5, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro.
