May 25, 1921 –  October 1, 2007  WHITESBORO รข?? Ralph Young, age 86, passed away Monday, October 1, 2007. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Rev. Jody Dyer officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro. Family and friends are welcome at Meador Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 from 7 to 8 P.M.
Ralph was born May 25, 1921 in Collinsville, Texas. He was the son of Joe and Thelma Leverett Young. He married Gladis Pauline Young on July 4, 1942 in Whitesboro. Ralph served in the U.S. Army as a Staff Sgt. during WW II in the European Theatre where he hit the beach at Normandy. During his military service, he received two Purple Hearts, four Bronze Stars and one Bronze Arrowhead. He was a mechanic by trade and also retired from the Denton State School as a House Parent. Ralph was a member of the First Baptist Church in Whitesboro.

He is survived by two children: a son, Joe Young and wife Carmen of Calera, OK; a daughter, Kay Clark and husband Jack of Whitesboro; five grandchildren; Jennifer Robertson of Durant, OK, Derek Young of Calera, OK, Jordan Young of Whitesboro, Sara Baugh of Calera, OK, and Preston Roberson of Calera, OK; five great-grandchildren, Kyler, Kade and Ashley Robertson, Chase and Hailey Clark.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gladis Pauline Young and a grandson, Patrick Todd Clark.

Pallbearers are: Johnny Welch, Gene Young, Ronnie Reed, Mike Click, Gene Bryan and Ronnie Raney.

Honorary Pallbearers are: Jim Francis and Kenneth Young.
