Phyllis Jo Moon, 73, of Valley View, TX passed away on June 2, 2023, at the Baylor, Scott & White Hospital in Plano, TX. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at 5:00 PM at the Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Gainesville with Bro. Glen Kersey officiating. There will be a time of visitation to follow after the service.
Phyllis was born on March 25, 1950, to Wylie and Ada McCollum in Gainesville, TX. Phyllis worked at the Valley View School District for over 30 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Valley View. Phyllis enjoyed sewing, quilting and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband Troy of 54 years; son Jason and wife Andrea; daughter Teresa Baker and husband Steven; grandchildren Luke Moon, Lauren Moon and Tyler Wagner, Landen Moon and Thomas Baker; her siblings Helen Muller of Valley View, Patricia Southerland of Gainesville, Johnny McCollum of Valley View and Jan Miller of Valley View, Phyllis is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents Wylie and Ada McCollum; siblings Bill McCollum and Wylene Potts.
In lieu of flowers please donate a book to the Valley View school library in her honor or Donate to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) in her name.

Troy I’m sorry for your loss Troy. We started in the 1st grade and went thru all 12 years of school together. As I recall Phyllis just retired recently and we will miss her.
