November 16, 1932 –  August 8, 2013  SADLER ? Funeral services for Peggy Joan Shindler, 80, will be held Monday, August 12, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Whitesboro, Texas with Rev. Mike Flanagan officiating. Interment will follow the service at Oaklawn Cemetery in Maybank, Texas at 2:30 p.m. All service arrangements are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro, Texas. Visitation services will be held, Sunday, August 11, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
She passed away at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital ? WNJ, in Sherman, Texas on August 8, 2013.

Peggy was born on November 16, 1932 to Willis Carl, Sr. and Elizabeth Maray (Purselley) Phillips in Dallas, Texas. She was married to John L. Shindler until his passing in February 1982. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Whitesboro, Texas. She also belonged to numerous painting clubs. Peggy was fun loving with a great spirit and attitude and she loved her family. Her family members called her ?Memaw?. She also loved ice cream. She put up a courageous battle against Alzheimer?s Syndrome.

She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Maray Shindler and Tim Cardinal of Sadler, TX; grandchildren: Brian L. Shindler and Jennifer Phillips of Collinsville, TX; Korina E. Patterson and Rickey Wright of Princeton, TX; great-grandchildren: Gavin R. Shindler, Gracyn M. Shindler, and Jackson Shindler; her brother, Carl Phillips, Jr. and his wife, Phyllis, of Paris, TX; daughter-in-law, Wendy Shindler and Kevin Mattingly, of Blue Ridge, TX; nephew, Chris Phillips and his wife, Trish, of Blue Ridge, TX; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins on the Shindler side of her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Elizabeth Phillips; and her husband, John L. Shindler; and their son, Joe L. Shindler.

The pallbearers will be Brian Shindler, Tim Cardinal, Rickey Wright, Kevin Mattingly, Al Phillips, and Chris Phillips.
