October 27, 1929 –  December 9, 2011  COLLINSVILLE – Funeral Services for Paul Wesley Hite, 82, will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Rev. Dan Eakin and Rev. Bob Rowe officiating. Interment will follow at Collinsville Cemetery.
He passed away on Friday, Dec. 9, 2011 at his residence.

He was born on Oct. 27, 1929 in Collinsville to Ernest and Bertie (Thurman) Hite. He married Mary Elizabeth Scyrkels on July 24, 1948 in Sherman. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, a charter member of Collinsville Bible Baptist Church, serving as a deacon and trustee. He owned and operated Jack Pot Pawn in Whitesboro for 15 years and was also a dairy farmer. He had served on the Collinsville ISD School Board. Paul enjoyed Texas Golden Glove boxing, and traveling. He dearly loved his dog, “Roxie” and was the greatest Paw Paw, ever.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Elizabeth Hite of Collinsville; 3 sons, Wesley Howard Hite and wife, Marian of Collinsville, Galan Ryan Hite of Collinsville and Alan Hilton Hite of Ft. Worth; 3 grandchildren, Jennifer Roy and husband, Lance, Christina Hite and Samantha Young; 1 great-granddaughter, Alexia Roy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Bertie Hite; a grandson, Christopher Hite and 14 brothers and sisters.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Hospice Plus in Sherman for all the caring compassion shown to them during Paul’s illness.

Pallbearers will be Lance Roy, Gary Hite, Bubba Umstead, Kenneth Hite, Ricky Nichols and Spencer Gillespie.
