August 12, 1917 –  May 23, 2010  Oma Brewer Wyatt, age 92, rose into Heaven on Sunday, May 23, 2010, at the Homestead of Sherman. Her daughter, Kathy, was by her side in the last moments of her life. She passed from this life to the next, just as she lived —- gracefully. She was born on August 12, 1917, in Cooke County, Texas. She was the daughter of Jim and Pearl Brewer. She married Curtis Wyatt on April 23, 1938, in Marysville, Texas. They celebrated 60 years of â??good timesâ? together. They moved to Whitesboro Texas, with their children in 1952. The First Baptist Church has always been Omaâ??s place of worship. She was a member of the Faith, Hope, and Charity Sunday School Class. Throughout her life, Oma trusted God to guide her journey, never questioning or doubting. There is comfort in knowing her journey led her into Godâ??s loving embrace.
BROKEN CHAIN
â??Little knew that morning that God was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly; in death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you; you did not go alone;
For part of us went with you, the day God called you home.
You left us peaceful memories; your love is still our guide,
And though we cannot see you, you are always by our side.
Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.
– Ron Tranmer

Oma was a homemaker. She committed her life as a loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother. Her family was spoiled by her delicious meals, and especially her â??tea cakeâ? cookies. Oma enjoyed sewing for the public. Some things were as simple as repairing a rip, putting in a hem, sewing on a button, or replacing a zipper; however, she was quite skilled and would take on an entire wedding party. If you needed anything last minute, she did not turn you down. Omaâ??s life was truly centered around family and friends and she was greatly enriched by her three grandchildren.

Oma was preceded in death by her husband Curtis Wyatt and two sons, Gary and Danny Wyatt; her parents, Jim and Pearl Brewer; sisters, Esther Lyons, Anna Davidson, and Eunice Bridges; brothers, J.D. Brewer, Tom Brewer, and Floyd Brewer; three nephews, Todd Phelps, Weldon Lyons, and Neal Brewer; and, two nieces, Lynda Brewer Joyner and Gwenn Lyons Beavers.

She is survived by one daughter, Kathy Lindsey Walthall and husband Mike, of Sherman; three grandchildren, Molly Harris of Lubbock, TX, Jamie Lindsey of Plano, TX, and Eric Lindsey of San Diego, CA; two sister-in-laws, Faye Brewer of Meridian, Miss. and Joyce Gillette of Wichita Falls, TX; and, several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends for visitation from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm, on Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at Meador Funeral Home, 401 Hwy. 377 North, Whitesboro, Texas.

Services will start at 10:00 am, on Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at the First Baptist Church of Whitesboro, TX, 124 Center Street. Burial will be at New Rest Haven Cemetery in Gainesville, TX. Services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home, Whitesboro, TX. They can be reached at 903-564-3800 for details.

The family would like to thank all her friends that came by, whom she so much enjoyed during her final days. Your visits were very much appreciated. She has your name written down in her guest book. What joy she had in showing everyone how many came to see her. And, a very special thank you to Lisa Langford and Twila Thomas, who became angels on earth.
