March 6, 1931 –  January 16, 2016  Funeral Services for Norman Denton, 84, of Collinsville, Texas, will be held Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Collinsville Church of Christ with Ricky Patterson officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, January 18, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Meador Funeral Home Chapel. He passed away at his home, Saturday, January 16, 2016, with his family by his side. He was born to O. J. and Ola Sue “Whiz” (Britt) Denton on March 6, 1931, in Gordonville, Texas. He grew up in the Gordonville area and attended Whitesboro schools. He married Rebecca (Hite) Denton, November 21, 1962, in McKinney, Texas. He and his identical twin brother, Dorman, established Denton Brothers Trucking, Inc. in 1969. He and his brother, Benny Denton started Denton Construction Company in 1983, having built many homes in the Collinsville area. He was a member of Collinsville Church of Christ. He served on various bank boards throughout North Texas and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed going to the lake and spending time with his family. Not only was he an excellent businessman, he was most proud of his family. He was an amazing husband, brother, father and grandfather. Pallbearers will be Jim Purdue, Dave Gressett, Keith Hughes, Frankie Lee Denton, Carl Wayne Baker and Jerry Patterson. Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Britt and C. E. Faulkner. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Denton of Collinsville; 2 daughters, Debbie Denton of Carrollton, and Tammy Denton Davis, and husband, Rance of Sherman; son, Randal Denton and wife, Amy of Tioga; 5 grandchildren, Jake, Justin and Kayla Davis of Sherman and David and Sarah Denton of Tioga. He was preceded in death by his parents, O.J. and Ola Sue Denton and brothers, Dorman Denton and Benny Denton.
