January 29, 1926 –  March 19, 2017  Mildred Frances Gault passed away Sunday, March 19. 2017, at the age of 91 years old in Spring, Texas. She was the oldest of three girls, born in Gainesville on January 29, 1926, to Emory and Enod Horn. She worked at Cunningham studios and graduated from Gainesville High school in 1943.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, William (Bill) Gault, Jr. of Gainesville, and parents, Emory and Enod (Grundy) Horn. She is survived by her two daughters, Sherry Gault of Spring and Pam Armand and husband, Jerry, of Conroe; grandchildren Jay Armand and wife, Haley, and Michele Chrisner and husband Brian; two sisters, Wynelle Martin of Saginaw, TX, and Norma Parsons of Newport News, VA., plus great-grandchildren Katie, Garrett, Easton, Ava and Rylee, plus numerous nieces and nephews, one aunt and uncle.

Mildred and Bill were married at the First Baptist Church in Gainesville on January 27, 1948. He was employed by Halliburton, which took them to Jacksboro, Venezuela, Graham, Wichita Falls, and finally settling in Abilene. Mildred worked at Wichita Falls General Hospital until they moved to Abilene. They joined Elmwood Methodist Church where they made many lifelong friends over the years. Mildred served many years as a Sunday school teacher, UMW, as well as other ministries within the church. She was a member of the Abilene Garden Club and for many residents of Abilene, a welcomed visitor as she delivered Meals on Wheels to them for 25 years, along with visiting Sears Methodist Home. Before meeting Bill, she volunteered in the USO in Gainesville. Together, Bill and Mildred enjoyed fishing and traveling, as well as gatherings with family and friends.

Services will be held at Meador Funeral Home in Gainesville, TX, Saturday, March 25, 2017, at 2:00 pm. Burial will be immediately following at Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Elmwood West UMC, 1302 S. Pioneer, Abilene, TX 79605.
