December 25, 1931 –  March 5, 2015  WHITESBORO – Graveside services for Mary M. Gaskins, 83, will be held on Monday, March 9, 2015, at 2:00 p.m., at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro, Texas with Chaplain Jerry Huggins officiating. All service arrangements are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro. Visitation services will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, March 8, from 6-8 p.m. She died at her residence in Whitesboro on March 5, 2015.
Mary was born on December 25, 1931 in Farmington, Texas to Charlie and Fay (Ferguson) Gibson. She was employed as a nurses’ aide at Whitesboro Health and Rehab for 30 years. She loved to play bingo. She enjoyed cooking and baking, making all kinds of candy during the holidays. She enjoyed working side by side with her husband at their full service filling station that they owned in Whitesboro. Mary enjoyed spending time with her best friends: Peggy Stanley; and Roy and Fay Taylor. She also enjoyed visits from Mary Ann Ferguson and her late husband, Donny Ferguson. She loved the Home Hospice of Cooke, Grayson, and Fannin County. She deeply appreciated her friend and her doctor, Dr. John Galewaler. She loved and enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters: Charlotte Foster (and husband, Eddie), Joyce Jones, and Darlene Gaskins, all of Whitesboro; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; brother, Charles Gibson of Sherman; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Gaskins; daughter, Shirley May; son, Randy Gaskins; grandson, Kenny Gaskins; granddaughter, Carrie May; parents, Charlie and Fay Gibson; sister, Myrtle Bailey; and brother, Dick Gibson. http://videos.lifetributes.com/575315
