GORDONVILLE ? Funeral services for Mary Layne, 75, will be held Thursday, August 15, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Gordonville, Texas with Jerald Lee officiating. Interment will follow the service at Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Sandusky, Texas. All service arrangements are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro, Texas. Visitation services will be held Wednesday, August 14, 2013, from 6:00-8:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
She passed away in Plano, Texas on August 9, 2013.
Mary Louella Layne was born on April 9, 1938 to Grady Lee and Rose Lee (Weems) Wilson in Itasca, Texas. She married Charles Lee Layne on June 4, 1955 in Fort Worth, Texas. She was a hard worker who loved taking care of family and many others. She enjoyed being on the go with her friends, and she loved her grandchildren. She retired from Johnson and Johnson and was currently employed part-time as a hostess at Winstar Casino.
She is survived by her daughter, Carrie Nielsen and her husband, Jesper, of Flower Mound, TX; daughter, Marilyn Mosher and her husband, Curtis, of Flower Mound, TX; daughter, Barbara Shelton and husband, Sam, of Irving, TX; son, Christopher Lee Layne and wife, Marcie of Sadler, TX; eight grandchildren: Amber Conner, Matthew Mosher, Taylor Mosher, Sam Shelton, Brett Shelton, Cassea Shelton, Conner Layne, and Colt Layne; six great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter; three brothers: R.C. Wilson and wife, Robbie, of Austin, TX; J.W. Wilson of Ft. Worth, TX; and Billy Clyde Wilson and wife, Pat, of Katy, TX; two sisters: Mabel Allison and husband, Joe, of Covington, TX; and Nell Carlisle and husband, Buddy, of Hillsboro, TX; and Bill Gatlin and wife, Charlotte, of Richardson, TX; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Grady and Rose Lee Wilson; husband, Charles Layne; son, Charles Edward Layne; and a brother and a sister.
The pallbearers will be Sam Shelton, Brett Shelton, Matthew Mosher, Jesper Nielson, Curtis Mosher, Conner Layne, and J. D. Conner.
