March 27, 1928 –  March 11, 2016  Mary Anna Kirby, 87, passed away Friday, March 11, 2016 at Denton Regional Medical Center. She was born to Ernest Kyle and Jewel Alene (Pennington) Couser, in Prosper, Texas on March 27, 1928. She married Dr. Vernon V. Kirby June 1946 in San Antonio, Texas. He preceded her in death July 4, 2008.
Mrs. Kirby was a Genealogist, American Rose Society Grand Champion and a member of the Rosston Methodist Church. She was a talented artist, played the organ and piano for the Methodist Churches her entire life, since the age of 9. She also was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 15th at Rosston Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Krueger officiating. Interment will follow in the Rosston Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Meador Funeral Home of Gainesville, Monday, March 14th from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Survivors include her two sons, Clark Kirby and wife Patty of Arlington; Mark Kirby and wife Lourdes; two daughters, Dr. Janet Kirby of Frisco, Diane Thornton & husband Dannie of Prairie Point; brother, Robert Couser of Longview; 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
