June 15, 1945 –  September 7, 2008  COLLINSVILLE â?? Marvin Curtiss â??Butchâ? Stapleton, 63, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008 at his home in Collinsville. A private memorial service will be planned at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro.
He was born on June 15, 1945 in Pampa, Texas to T.P. and Nellie Mae (Powell) Stapleton. Butch married Betty Shaw on March 18, 1972 in Dallas. He was a carpenter by trade.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Stapleton of Collinsville, two daughters, Cheryl Starks of Flower Mound and Margret Mackey of Gladewater, two sons, Jon Stapleton of Tampa, FL and Curtiss Stapleton of Bremerton, WA, ten grandchildren, a brother, Ronnie Stapleton of Pampa, a sister, Kay Whildon of Plano, a niece, Janie Marze of Kilgore and numerous other nieces and nephews.
