February 8, 1920 –  November 27, 2017  Whitesboro resident, Marjorie Harriet Hendry, passed away Monday, November 27, 2017 at Pecan Tree Health and Rehab Center in Gainesville at the age of ninety-seven. She was born in Solon Springs, Wisconsin February 8, 1920 to Robert and Florence (Miller) Hendry.
Marge had a B.S. in elementary education and taught school at the John Brown Academy in Gentry, Arkansas. From teaching school, she went into the Army at Ft. Carson for two years. She then went to the Women’s Medical College in Philadelphia and earned a Doctorate of Physical Therapy. She worked at John Hopkins University and Baltimore Memorial Hospital where she retired in 1984. Marge went on several missionary trips to Holland and Africa. In 1989 she bought property at Moss Lake and build a two-story home, using the top story for friends and relatives. In 2010 she moved to Whitesboro to be with her family. She was very involved with the Sivells Bend Home Extension Club, serving many ways and spent ten years volunteering for the American Mule and Donkey Society in the National Registry Office in Denton/Lewisville. Dr. Marge loved to go camping, hiking, skiing and sailing and was an avid bowler. She loved to read, knit and do puzzles in her free time. She was an active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church where she attended until 2015.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 30th at Temple Baptist Church in Gainesville with Rev. Larry Huffman officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Thursday and from 6:30 to 8:30 on Wednesday evening at Meador Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.

She leaves behind fourteen nephews, including David Hendry and wife, Peggy of Whitesboro; eight nieces, including Linda Coolen and husband Ken of Gainesville; and numerous great and great-great-nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robert Hendry, Elliot Hendry and Charles Hendry and sisters, Effie Clair Hendry, Barbara Pearson and Rose Richart.
Pallbearers will be Doug Richart, Dean Hendry, Joel Hendry, Derek Hendry, Danny Hendry and Danny Lovelace. http://videos.lifetributes.com/850725
