April 12, 1935 –  June 4, 2012  Funeral services for Marilyn Sue Offord (77), of Gainesville, will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 7, 2012, at Meador-Clement-Keel Chapel, with Rev. Joe Cavallero officiating. Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., prior to the service, Thursday at the funeral home.
Marilyn was born April 12,1935 to Clyde and Lucille (Wheeler) Wells in Collinsville, Texas. She died June 4, 2012 at Renaissance Care Center. Mrs. Offord owned and operated Alterations Plus in Denton and later moved her business to Gainesville. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved spending time with her family. Marilyn also enjoyed quilting, crocheting and reading. She was of the Church of Christ faith.

Mrs. Offord is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie Burgess of Gainesville, Kathy and Mike Wiginton of Gainesville and Pam and Gene Tipton of Forestburg; son, Donnie Offord of Valley View; brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Wanda Wells of Valley View, sister, Glenda and Kenneth Alexander of Valley View; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Melvin L. Offord and a grandson, Brandon Burgess.
