March 7, 1912 – May 23, 2011 SHERMAN, Texas – Marie Olive Verinder slipped away to be with her Lord May 23, 2011. She was born at home in Clearwater, Kansas to Lydia and Leonard Davies on March 7, 1912. At an early age, she moved with her family to northern Florida and worked at the Jacksonville shipyards during WWII. After the war, she attended Business College and became an executive secretary for Prudential Ins. Company in Jacksonville, Florida. During the early sixties, Marie met Fred Verinder while working at Prudential and they were married in 1965. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Fred; her parents; her brothers: George and Paul; a nephew – Don Davies, and a grandson, Freddy Verinder. She is survived by her two nieces: Judi Bossert and husband, Karl, of Cocoa Beach, Florida; and Nancy Suzich and husband, Harry, of Pennsylvania; two great nephews: Bert Burns and wife, Joy; and Brad Burns of Orlando, Florida; two sons: Dick Verinder and wife, Jane, of Chappell Hill, Texas; and David Verinder and wife, Karen, of Sandusky, Texas; six grandsons: David, Mark, Danny, Mike, Tim and Joel; twelve great-grandchildren and two great-great grandnieces/nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at the West Hill Cemetery in Sherman. Arrangements are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro, Texas.
