August 25, 1916 –  February 12, 2014  WHITESBORO ? Funeral services for Marie Bullard Walker, 97, will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2014, at 2:00 p.m., in the Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro, Texas with her nephews: Rev. Eugene Bullard, of Archer City, Texas and Rev. Frank Hawkins of Brownwood, Texas officiating. Interment will follow the services in Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro. Visitation services will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the funeral service.
Marie Bullard Walker went home to be with the Lord, February 12, 2014, at Texas Health Presbyterian-WNJ Hospital, in Sherman, Texas.

Mrs. Walker was born in Basin Springs Community, Sadler, Texas, on August 25, 1916, to John Wesley Bullard, Sr. and Ina Margaret Kelly Bullard. She attended several schools in Grayson County before moving with her family to Whitesboro, Texas where she attended school and worked.

She was married to Melvin ?Chick? Walker, of Whitesboro, Texas, on June 18, 1938, in Denton, Texas. They moved to Los Angeles, California in 1942, where they both worked and retired from Douglas Aircraft. They returned to their hometown of Whitesboro, Texas in 1982. Mrs. Walker made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ as a teenager while living in Collinsville, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin ?Chick? Walker, in 2007, after sixty-nine years of marriage; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Wesley Bullard, Sr.; brothers: Clifton Bullard, John Wesley Bullard, Jr., Thurman Bullard, Wayne Bullard, Afton Bullard, and Frank Bullard; and a nephew, Larry Walker; sisters: Leona Parker, Bessie Dickey, Loretta Walker, and Frances Hawkins; and all of their spouses.

Mrs. Walker is survived by one brother, Olan Bullard, and his wife, Mildred, of Sherman, Texas; thirty-two Bullard nieces and nephews and their families; a brother-in-law, J. W. Walker and family of Garland, Texas; and a host of nieces and nephews in the Walker family.

Honorary pallbearers will be all of her nephews.

A family ?thank you? goes to her home health nurse and great-great niece, Mrs. Misty Nordhoff, who loving cared for her Aunt Marie.
