August 25, 1918 –  July 18, 2015  WHITESBORO-Funeral services for Margreet (Stroup) Reed, 96, will be held at 10:00a.m. , Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Rev. Mike Flanagan and Rev. Bobby Layman officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro. Family visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at the funeral home. Mrs. Reed passed away on July 18, 2015 at Just Like Home in Whitesboro.
Margreet was born on August 25, 1918 in Ripley, Mississippi to Pink Levi and Lucille (Reese) Stroup. She married William Reed on November 13, 1937 in Ripley, Mississippi. Margreet was a member of First Baptist Church Whitesboro and the Whitesboro History Club. She enjoyed making and giving away her beautiful quilts, which she has given over 100 quilts to her family and loved ones. Margreet also enjoyed flower gardening, genealogy and traveling. She never met a stranger.
She is survived by 2 sons, Hilton Reed and wife, Brenda of Whitesboro and Darrell Reed and wife, Sherry of Sherman; 2 daughters, Greta Dempster of Plano and Vicki Francis and husband, James of Sherman; 11 grandchildren, Ken Davis, Craig Davis, Jason Reed, Christy Duran, Brad Robertson, Brian Robertson, David Reed, James Reed, Amberly Marshall, Jennifer Cate and Amy McGriff; 22 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Juanette Jamieson of Whitesboro and Hermie Bullock of Arizona and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, Pink Levi and Lucille Reese and husband, William Reed.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Ken Davis, Craig Davis, Jason Reed, Brad Robertson, Brian Robertson, David Reed and James Reed.
