Margaret Louise Hoffman, 101 of Gainesville, Texas passed away on November 23, 2022.  She was born on October 27, 1921, in Madelia, Minnesota to Oscar McCarthy and Carrietta Mae (Brewer) McCarthy. Margaret married Gerald Hoffman in August 1940 in Algonia, Iowa.  She was a good Christian woman and a member of the Custer City Baptist Church and a Lab Technician.  Margaret loved gardening, quilting, sewing, farming, and making things.  She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.  She was known for her cheerfulness and her great sense of humor.  Margaret was fiercely independent her whole life.

Margaret is survived by daughters, JoAnn Francis and husband, George of Gainesville, Texas; Doris Faye Hale of Lewisville, Texas; 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 13 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by parents and sister, Cornelia Walker.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 2, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Custer City Baptist Church, Gainesville, Texas with Brother Randy Webb officiating.  Visitation will be held Thursday, December 1, 2022, from 6:00-8:00 pm at Meador Funeral Home, 1204 E. California Street, Gainesville, Texas. Interment to follow service at Nelson Grove Cemetery, Gainesville, Texas.
